Everyday Encounter — Slideshow of Domestic and Oversea Young Photographers Held at China Millennium Monument
See article by PhotoInt here

In October 2016 I had the chance of having my on-going project reflecting on the United States shown during one of the events organised at the Photo Beijing 2016 festival. This is the largest official Photography Event in Beijing. It's held annually.

In 2015, I passed in front of it with a friend, hoping one day our photos would be there. One year (of hard work) later, some of my photos are there. This was quite an unreal moment

“Everyday  Encounter,” was a slideshow of 20 domestic and oversea photographers,  held on October 18, 2016 at the Multifunction Hall of China Millennium Monument - a "beautiful" ode to brutalist communist architecture.

The event was sponsored by the Information Resource Department of China Photographers Association (CPA) and organized by PHOTOINTER (www.photoint.net), the slideshow was attended by over 200 photographers and media representatives (according to the organisers)

The series of slideshow videos prepared by each of the selected photographers was shown in a surprisingly (when seeing the exterior of the building) modern and polished cinema room.

It was quite a pleasure to see the photos displayed in such large size.

As posted by photoint, a behind the scenes shot of the presentation.

You can see all the videos shown during the show here (youtube link)

I took a quick snapshot of the official photographer at work

The public was very interested (I hope, this was taken between the presentations...)

and there was more people than I thought there would for an event taking place during the week and starting at 9am
